Analytisch chemicus Bob Pirok wint Shimadzu Young Scientist Award

Op de HPLC2015 conferentie in Beijing is aan Bob Pirok van het Van 't Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences een Shimadzu Young Scientist Award uitgereikt. De promovendus uit de Analytical Chemistry groep ontving als enige niet-Chinees een van de vijf awards.

Bob ontving de prijs voor zijn lezing  'Optimizing LC×LC Separations with Gradient Elution in Both Dimensions', waarin hij PIOTR presenteerde. Dit is MatLab-gebaseerde software voor de optimalisatie van zogenaamde tweedimensionale vloeistofchromatografie (LCxLC). PIOTR brengt de ontwikkeltijd voor een LCxLC analysemethode terug van twee tot vier maanden tot twee weken of minder. Bob maakte de software de afgelopen zomer in relatief korte tijd.
