Over the last two weeks, more than 100 PhD researchers, postdocs and other researchers from all over the world participated in the Winter School Understanding Molecular Simulation (MolSim2021) organized by the Computational Chemistry group of Van 't Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences.

The already long and rich MolSim tradition (since 2000) was expanded by the 2021 edition that was conducted in a fully online setting. A dedicated digital environment not only provided a sense of being together but allowed the participants to concentrate for two full weeks on interesting and challenging science in the field of molecular simulation.

The MolSim winter school is part of the scientific training program of CECAM, the European centre for computational research in the field of science and technology. It features contributions from renowned scientists from The Netherlands and abroad and is organized with support from the Holland Research School for Molecular Chemistry and the John van Geuns fund.
