At the Annual Symposium of Amcel, the Amsterdam Centre for Electrochemistry, two awards will be presented: the ‘Amcel Award’ for best PhD thesis and the ‘Amcel BSc thesis award’ for best BSc thesis. The symposium will be held 31 March, 2023 and nominations can be submitted until 1 February, 2023. Please read the details below.

Amcel is a joint initiative of the Amsterdam electrochemistry community, striving to lay the foundation for the green and electrical energy based chemistry of the future. Through its high-quality education and research programs, the members of the Amcel symposium join forces to contribute to the advancement of scientific research and technical innovation in the field of electrochemistry and materials for energy.

At its Annual Symposium, Amcel will present two awards:

Please send your nominations to amcelthesisaward-science@uva.nl no later than 1 Februari, 2023.

Nominations will be evaluated by a selection panel consisting of experts in the field of electrochemistry. The panel will evaluate the thesis on the following criteria: research quality and novelty, originality of the methodological approach, significant conceptual or theoretical contribution and potential impact of the research.
