Second edition of chemistry-themed club night on Friday 10 April
31 March 2026
Computational Chemistry PhD student Massimiliano Paesani, one of the initiators of the ‘Molecular Jungle’ concept, says that during the first edition held November last year, “it felt surreal - and very rewarding - to see people dancing with our molecules in the background.” With molecular trajectories and research-based simulations projected across the walls, the atmosphere was open and quite vibrant, he reports. “Students, professors, staff, and friends from outside academia all came together to enjoy the visuals and music. Afterwards, we heard from many people they wished they could have been there. So it was clear we had to organise a second edition.”
Peasani thinks it would be amazing if the ‘Molecular Jungle’ club night could be turned into a recurring tradition. “It shows just how cool science can be when you present it in the right way. We have collected feedback and aim to make each party even better than the last, in every way we can.”
The Molecular Jungle club night will be at Jungle Amsterdam at Tweede van Swindenstraat 26, near Oosterpark and just a 5-minute walk from Muiderpoort Station. If you plan to attend, please register online, where you will also find a link to 20 minutes of music from the first Molecular Jungle. Don’t wait too long, since capacity is limited.
