PhD candidate Nienke Leenders and postdoctoral researcher Florenz Buß of the Van 't Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences have been selected as finalists of the Amsterdam Science Innovation Awards 2025. On the afternoon of 17 June, they will be among nine finalists pitching their innovative ideas to a jury and competing for €10,000 to further develop their innovations.

Chaired by İlknur Dönmez, Director of Economic Affairs and Culture (EZC) at the City of Amsterdam, the jury will select a winner in three separate categories: Society, Health, and Enviroment & Climate. Leenders and Buß both compete in the latter category. Below both contestants present their projects in a short video that secured them a place in the finals.
