HIMS researchers contribute to the Bachelor's education in Chemistry and a variety of other BSc programmes, of which the most relevant are listed below.  All Bachelor's programmes are taught in Dutch, although most educational material is provided in English.

Chemistry

The Bachelor’s programme in Chemistry teaches the characteristics of materials and how they interact with each other. That knowledge forms the basis of understanding or improving existing processes. The Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is a joint degree of the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

The Faculty of Science maintains a website with a database of students' theses, among which the Bachelor's theses in Chemistry.

Future Planet Studies

Future Planet Studies is all about the future. It is about coming up with solutions to 21st century challenges. How should we use water, food and energy in the future? Answers will be drawn from knowledge of natural sciences as well as social and behavioural sciences.

Science, Business & Innovation

This programme, taught at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, is aimed at developing a proficiency in translating scientific discoveries into innovative, market-oriented applications. It consists of a combination of courses in the natural sciences, the social sciences and in business studies.

Natural and Social Sciences ('betagamma')

The Bachelor in Natural and Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdam is unique within the Netherlands. It is not restricted to a single subject area; instead, it combines elements of natural sciences, social sciences, economics and philosophy.

Physics and Astronomy

Physicists and astronomers are interested in everything from the tiniest particles to the largest structures. This Bachelor’s programme teaches about the world of atoms, quarks and solar systems, in a combined programme.

Psychobiology

Students of Psychobiology learn how to research the biological background to psychological processes. The programme provides a thorough grounding in biology and where necessary also physics, chemistry and mathematics are studied.

Biology

The programme in Biology centres on uncovering how living systems function. Topics covered include those at the genetic and cellular level, but also populations and ecosystems. There is a focus on how these different levels are connected.

Biomedical Sciences

Biomedical Sciences is focused on research into prevention, diagnoses and therapies in medicine. The programme focusses on how a healthy body works, what healthy cells and organs look like, how they work and how disorders can allow illnesses to emerge.
